Greetings New Hope Lutherans and Friends
Wow! Last Sunday was exciting! We were bolstered by an inspiring message from Thania
about how God works to reform the church; past, present, and future. Three children were in
church. Hope’s grandson will return next week for his First Communion!
Then we had a joint Reformation Service, 4 PM, at Peace Lutheran. Music, liturgies and
messages were uplifting with power to grapple with these challenging times. We also had the
“Trunk and Treat” event for the safety and wellbeing of children.
Next Year, New Hope will host the joint, El Paso, Reformation service.
We also collected a table full of items to help those assailed by horrendous violence.
I’m in contact with Pastor Anne Knighten who serves in Buffalo Wyoming. Anne is pastor for a
two point congregation: St Luke’s Lutheran and Union Congregational in Buffalo, Wyoming.
This is our northernmost ministry in our five state Synod. El Paso congregations are the
southern perimeter.
Hmmmm? We both pondered..... Would be WAY COOL to have some joint, real-time,
connection by Zoom to share a prayer during a worship some Sunday, and to have a Zoom
Confirmation meeting for youth!
Yep.... God is at work. Here we go....
Welcome
Interim Pastor Jeff Swanson
